I would definitely recommend visiting this museum. It’s located in a major shopping area and would take you less than 40 minutes to complete. None of the stuff shocked me and it probably won’t shock you if you’ve ever been a curious teen with internet lol.

I love that there are items from all across the globe. There were artifacts from Ancient Rome, China, Japan, and various countries throughout Africa.

I had never heard of the Japanese Phallus Festival and enjoyed watching the videos showcasing this cultural event.

I also really enjoyed learning about how women have expressed themselves sexually throughout time. They sent NSFW photos of themselves to their lovers during early wars, they “sexted” or wrote love letters, and they also used vibrators or dildos. The earliest dildo has been around over 28,000 years, YES, during the Ice Age. To me, this was a wonderful reminder that sex has been around forever and there is nothing new under the sun.

It was also surprising to learn that different cultures and time periods placed different emphasis on penis size, For example, in Ancient Rome, small penises were considered to be a sign of beauty so most of their statues depicted penises as small. In contrast, most of the African statues I saw showed average to large-sized penises, possibly due to the statues being more a fertility doll than just art.

Women have also been presented from sizes petite to voluptuous throughout art, reminding us that all bodies are beautiful :).
